Some of the junior children at Lake Tekapo School, in the South Island of New Zealand, have sent their Flat Stanley’s on an adventure to Indonesia. Their class is learning about different cultures and their Stanleys are going to help out by sharing their experiences in Indonesia and maybe other destinations.

Ao Nang, Krabi, Thailand

Ao Nang is a beach town in the region of Krabi, in Southern Thailand.

A lot of tourists visit Ao Nang to go diving and go on tours and visit islands on the Longtail boats.

I meet my brother in Ao Nang and we relaxed and ate lots and lots of yummy Thai food.

Longtail boats anchored off the beach.

Getting a lift in a Song thaew (which means two rows). It's a ute with a canopy and two bench seats in the back.

The area where we stayed was a maze of lanes filled with guesthouse, restaurants and shops, painted brightly with graffiti.

There were many different forms of transport to choose from:

To get to Yogyakarta we took a bus to Medan, flew to Jakarta and then took a train to Yogyakarta.

This is the local bus that took us to Medan.

We caught a bus from Jakarta Airport into the city so we could catch a train to Yogyakarta.
Even though it was 6:30am the roads were very busy
