Lots of people in Bali have the same name. You are named depending on the order you are born in your family. Males and females have the same names.

There are slightly different names for different parts of Bali.

First born child = Wayan, Gede or Putu

Second born child = Made (Mah-day) or Kadek

Third born child = Nyoman or Komang

Forth born child = Ketut

Then you go back to the start again.

So the fifth born child would be Wayan, Gede or Putu.


If my family were Balinese my name would be Made or Kadek because I have one older sister.
