Some of the junior children at Lake Tekapo School, in the South Island of New Zealand, have sent their Flat Stanley’s on an adventure to Indonesia. Their class is learning about different cultures and their Stanleys are going to help out by sharing their experiences in Indonesia and maybe other destinations.

Sanur (Sah-noor) Bali

Watching the locals and tourists having a swim at Sanur Beach

Spending some time on Sanur beach
Sanur is a beach town on the east coast of Bali. People like to visit here because there is an offshore reef that makes the water by the beach nice and calm.

This man is cooking Nikki a chicken noodle soup for 10,000 IDR (Indonesian Rupiah). Do you know how much that is in New Zealand Dollars?

There are more motorbikes than cars in Bali.

Petrol for motorbikes is sold on the side of the road in plastic or glass bottles.

  1. Godley class (Lake Tekapo School) have worked out that your soup was just over $1 NZD.

    1. Good work! That's the cheapest meal I have had but I normally pay about 40, 000 IDR for a meal. I have lots of photos from a cooking course I did. When I add the post you will see some of the different meals they have over here.
