Some of the junior children at Lake Tekapo School, in the South Island of New Zealand, have sent their Flat Stanley’s on an adventure to Indonesia. Their class is learning about different cultures and their Stanleys are going to help out by sharing their experiences in Indonesia and maybe other destinations.

    1. Hi Godley Class,
You are very observant. I can see you have been doing some quality thinking by reading your great observations and questions.

Preston, there are little trucks and motorbikes on Nusa Lembongan. The little trucks are used like taxis. People sit on the back like a ute.

Xavier, there are lots of different boats in Nusa Lembongan. There are small fishing boats, fast boats for towing tourists on banana boat rides, scuba diving boats and lots more.

Taylor, I didn't see any crocodiles or fish in the mangroves. I heard lots of birds singing though.

      Preston, the motorbike was black.

Devon, lots of ladies carry things on their head over here. They wrap a towel in a circle on the top of their head so it is flat. The lady I went to the market with, put here basket on her head and said it was easier to carry that way.

Ava, you are right, the buildings are made of lots of different materials. There is a lot of concrete, some wood, and I saw some men making their own bricks out of concrete the other day. Their roofs can be mad of dried plants or metal.

      Nikki
